In Chidiyali village, located in the Hemwal Valley, residents have faced a decade-long struggle with water scarcity. However, the joint initiatives led by Uttarakhand Jan Jagriti Samiti, Mountain Forum Himalayas, HIMCON Himalayan Springs & Seeds, and Himalaya Resources have rekindled hope among the villagers. This year, on 22nd August 2024, as part of their ongoing commitment to water conservation, the community came together to engage in tree plantation activities, enhancing the health of their ancestral water sources. With renewed enthusiasm, the villagers demonstrated their dedication to not only restoring their water supply but also fostering a culture of environmental stewardship, thereby ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
