Vision and Mission

VISION STATEMENT

Mountain Forum Himalayas envisions a safe and prosperous society where every section of the society can live a quality life along with economic, social and cultural development and restoration of the ecosystem.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Mountain Forum Himalayas is dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of marginalized communities, including economically weaker sections, Dalits, women—particularly single women—and individuals with disabilities. Our mission is to foster sustainable livelihoods through the equitable use of local resources and the promotion of nature-based solutions for biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation.

We strive to strengthen resilience and sustainability in mountain regions by coordinating with government bodies and organizations for effective disaster risk reduction, relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts. We advocate for the integration of sustainable technologies, including artificial intelligence, to support climate-resilient and local-based initiatives.

Our platform unites voluntary organizations, people's groups, and village-level institutions to address critical issues such as environmental protection, livelihood enhancement, disaster management, health, and education. We are committed to ensuring gender equality and inclusivity by promoting the participation of women and gender minorities in all levels of decision-making and operations.

Through good governance, enhanced information systems, and accessible resources, we aim to eliminate social and economic inequalities and encourage ongoing efforts towards sustainable development and resilience in the Himalayan region.
