Vision Building Exercise

The Vision Building exercise of the Mountain Forum Himalayas (MFH), held from May 22-24, 2023, at the Himalayan Torchbearer in Dehradun, was a pivotal step in aligning the forum's objectives with the evolving socio-political landscape of the Himalayan region. This workshop was driven by the need to reassess the MFH's strategic direction in light of significant changes in the context over the past three decades, including shifts in government policies and emerging challenges faced by voluntary organizations.

Collaborative Discussions

Participants engaged in collaborative discussions to review past successes and identify common tools and processes that fostered community resilience and adaptive governance. The outcome of this exercise was a recalibrated vision, mission, and strategic goals for MFH, emphasizing enhanced participation and accountability among stakeholders.

Strengthening Community Engagement

By prioritizing a multi-stakeholder approach and acknowledging the diverse aspirations of local communities, the forum aims to strengthen its community engagement and operational frameworks, ensuring sustainable development in the mountain regions.

Conclusion

This exercise not only solidified the MFH’s commitment to local empowerment but also laid the groundwork for future initiatives that are responsive to the dynamic needs of the communities it serves.
