Access to Government Schemes and Entitlements for Livelihood Enhancement

Access to government schemes and entitlements is crucial for enhancing livelihoods in the mountainous regions, where poor, landless, small and marginalized farmers, pastoralists, and indigenous tribes often struggle to navigate bureaucratic processes. Many of these communities are unaware of available programs that could support their agricultural practices, improve their economic resilience, or provide essential resources. MFH advocates for better awareness and accessibility of government initiatives, ensuring that vulnerable groups can benefit from subsidies, skill development programs, and social safety nets. By facilitating partnerships between local communities and government agencies, we work to bridge gaps in information and support, empowering marginalized populations to utilize these entitlements effectively for sustainable livelihood enhancement. This not only improves their economic conditions but also strengthens their voice in local governance and policy-making processes.

At the Mountain Forum Himalayas, we envision a future where poor, landless, small and marginalized farmers, pastoralists, and tribes not only safeguard their environments but also secure their long-term prosperity and well-being. By emphasizing a balance between development and environmental sustainability, we strive to create resilient, self-sufficient communities that flourish within their unique ecological and cultural landscapes.
